Pattaya Education and Computer School was established in 1991; it was the first, and is the longest running vocational school in Pattaya to be legally registered with the Department of Education of Thailand to teach languages and computer use.
PEC operates under the supervision of the Department of Education, thus: premises and operation are regularly inspected; all curricula and courses have been fully approved by the Department of Education; all teaching staff are qualified and registered; and student qualifications and certificates are issued in accordance with the national requirements for vocational training and are thus recognised throughout Thailand.
Don't bother with all those schools that
claim vague education authority, 'recognition'.
PEC is fully registered and certified.
PEC is
able to issue Ministry of Education certificates.
If you want a real qualification use PEC.
Why is vocational education needed ?
Whilst the state education system in Thailand has made great strides in recent years and continues to improve, it is universally acknowledged that it remains very weak in the provision of language training and computer use. Many have never had the opportunity for education in these subjects and even those lucky ones that did receive school education, frequently failed to see the relevance of such subjects in a school environment and performed poorly. It is often only when school leavers come to enter the job market that their shortfalls suddenly become glaring obviously to them. Without at least basic English few skilled jobs are available, and even clerical jobs now often require some knowledge of computing; a knowledge that cannot realistically be acquired without at least some English language. The tourist industry in Pattaya and newly established industrial companies along the Eastern Seaboard are often moved almost to despair; - not by the lack of skilled staff, since many companies expected there would be a need for specialist training - but by the lack of workers who have an adequate education to even enter a company training programme. The role of vocational schools in Thailand is perhaps of far greater importance than in many Western countries, since it often provides the only practical method for many to acquire the skills they need to move from unskilled labour to progressive careers. Chonburi province is fortunate to have a very progressive Department of Education which long ago recognised the value of vocational education. The Department seeks to promote the active role of vocational education in the community and continually strives to improve the quality of vocational education which is available. PEC is an active member of the
Chonburi Vocational Schools Association and works with the Department to continually improve the structure of education in the
Province.
PEC is a real school providing the best in vocational education in Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard.
